Day 11 - København-Helsingborg

Today was a mixed day; not so much nice weather, but I did finish in a new country: Sweden! :-D

I woke up at 10h, ate a breakfast and chilled in Joana's apartment (she left early for work). First I got groceries, worked on my blog and left at 14h. This relaxed pace was good for today, since I only had to cycle 50km and my next Couchsurfer works till late (20h).

Since I had so much time, I still had time to visit the famous mermaid! As I came to the location, bus loads of tourist were there. 'Man, this is to much!' So I quickly made a picture and left.
Similar to the road towards Copenhagen, the path going out also took long. The route was quite nice, cycling along side the rail tracks, going up and down. The path was narrow and steep in some parts, which made it a challenge! Further down the road, the cycling path continued alongside the main road and the sea. I also saw brown cows, which had horns!

At 17:30 I came at the harbour of Helsingør: this was a small ferry to Sweden. While I was waiting, I saw multiple cruise ships passing by. I looked for the ship 'The Rotterdam' because my uncle Kees is currently on a cruise to the Baltic states.
When the ferry came, cyclist were the first to drive onto the truck deck :-) On the main deck I ate a Frankfurter Würst (which tasted like plastic) and enjoyed the view. The 30 minute passage was quite fast; within a blink of an eye, I was in Sweden!
New country, same weather... Since I was still early, I waited in the city and found free wifi. I got a message from my next Couchsurfer tomorrow: he bailed on me... :-(
After finding a place with stable internet (McDonalds) I started searching for new hosts.

Around 20h I went to my next Couchsurfer: Linn. She was a nice person who suggested to do a walk in the city centre. Helsingborg was very nice, especially with the sunset. Sadly I didn't had my phone with me to take pictures, because these were perfect conditions! :-)
We walked in the town and alongside the coast. At the end went to the supermarket to buy breakfast and chocolate! :-D
Back home we drunk some tea and ate the chocolate bar, it was very Jummy! :-) We discussed a lot about social security and trying to find the best solution the create a better world. I guessed we agreed on many things, but we also had our differences. Around midnight I went sleeping on a big couch! :-) At the same time I sent messages to Couchsurfers: one actually reacted at 0:30! This guy could host me! YEAH! :-D
Very happy I went to sleep!
